Every five years, we review our prices with input from customers and communities, with final approval from the Essential Services Commission. We’ve now started planning for the 2028 to 2033 period.
Through this process, you’ll be able to share your views on the services you rely on, and the value of investing in water assets supporting regional southern Victorian farms and businesses.
Why this is important is because Southern Rural Water operates on a cost-recovery basis, which means our prices are set to recover the cost of managing water resources and delivering services. We must also meet legislative and policy obligations.
To assess priorities and value, we will be reviewing our services and how we continue to invest to manage water resources and infrastructure – from major storages and irrigation networks, to how we regulate surface and groundwater to support equitable and sustainable access.
Engagement begins in April and May through a dedicated webpage, online survey and regional face-to-face sessions.
