Friday 24 April update:
The Chief Health Officer has this week provided advice that canoeing, kayaking, stand-up paddleboarding, rowing and surf skiing are permitted forms of exercise. The guidance around social distancing must still be followed and people are advised not to travel long distances to undertake these activities.
As a result, we have reopened road access to the Old Tanjil Road carpark at Blue Rock Lake, to enable people access to the lake with kayaks, canoes and paddleboards for exercise, while adhering to strict social distancing guidelines. Alternative (non-ramp) access is already available for these activities at our other storages at Lake Glenmaggie, Cowwarr Weir, Pykes Creek Reservoir and Melton Reservoir.
Please note, the boat ramps, toilets, playground and bbqs remain closed.
Fishing and powered recreational boating are still not permitted activities.
Anyone who does not follow the guidance risks on-the-spot penalties from Victoria Police.
