Southern Rural Water is running a survey on the future of groundwater management in the Koo Wee Rup Water Supply Protection area. It seeks input from those who currently have groundwater licences, as well as those who would like to investigate getting a licence for extraction.
Surveys have been mailed to existing customers and the survey is also available online. Either can be completed anonymously, if preferred.
Project Manager Joan Deng said, “We are reviewing the current groundwater management plan and the feedback will help us to assess whether it is working well, or whether there is a need to make some improvements to the plan.”
The survey is seeking participants’ feedback on:
- how groundwater is being managed
- water trading
- reliability of groundwater supply
- groundwater quality
- water availability.
To receive a copy of the printed survey or for a copy of the current management plan for the area, please contact Joan Deng on 1300 139 510 or email JoanD@srw.com.au.
Or click here to participate in the survey online. The survey closes on Monday 29 October at 12noon.
Southern Rural Water staff are also available at the Wandin-Silvan 2018 Field days on Friday 12 and Saturday 13 October in the pavilion to answer questions. If you would like more information about the current management plan, go to: http://www.srw.com.au/files/Technical_reports/KWR_GMP_.pdf
