Lake Narracan is popular for water skiing, boating and other recreational activities. Southern Rural Water manages the water releases from Blue Rock Lake to Lake Narracan for the local power stations. Occasionally we release water from Blue Rock Lake to Lake Narracan as part of an ongoing agreement with the Latrobe Council and Ski Club.

Please note: The Latrobe City Council is responsible for the waterway, recreation and surrounding land.

The dam is an essential part of providing water for cooling the power stations generators in the Latrobe Valley.

Southern Rural Water acknowledges and recognises Aboriginal people as the Traditional Owners and Custodians of the land and waters on which we work and live, and we respect their deep and ongoing connection to Country. For more about the First Nations peoples on whose Country we work, click here.
