Southern Rural Water manages a number of large lakes and reservoirs across southern Victoria.
While their chief purpose is to harvest water for downstream customers such as irrigation districts and the Latrobe Valley power generators, many are also open to the public for recreation such as boating, fishing, swimming and picnicking.
We welcome visitors to enjoy a great day out using our facilities including boat ramps, picnic areas and designated swimming zones.
Some of our storages are annual storages. This means that they fill and empty nearly every year, which in turn will affect recreational access to water in different ways to larger storages. Access to water in all our storages may be limited or closed when water levels drop, or when there is blue-green algae contamination.
