The Weir Pool at Cowwarr

CAPTION: Cowwarr is a small settlement between Heyfield and Traralgon in central Gippsland. It is important for SRW as it is the location of Cowwarr Weir. The weir controls supply of water from the Thomson River into the Cowwarr Main Channel and the southern section of the Macalister Irrigation District. It also regulates flows to the lower Thomson River and to Rainbow Creek. The weir pool and environs have become a very popular local tourist attraction, with views such as this demonstrating the great natural beauty of the area.
