They join existing Board members including Chairperson Ms Jan Greig, Mr Alan Hawkes, Mr Terry Burgi and Managing Director Clinton Rodda.
The new Board members were appointed by Minister for Water, Tim Holding, who is responsible for appointing a skills-based board for all water corporations. The Board again includes a range of expertise in farming, business and environmental management, backed up by strong customer consultative committees including the Macalister, Werribee and Bacchus Marsh Irrigation Districts committees, and the Southern Groundwater and Rivers Forum.
Retiring Board members are Mrs Jenny McMillan of Denison, Mrs Kay Spierings of Hampton Park and Mr Neil Gannon of Maffra. Southern Rural Water is expecting a further appointment of another Board member to replace Mr John Pye, who resigned in April.
“We thank Jenny, Kay, John and Neil for their great service to Southern Rural Water,” said Board Chairman Jan Greig. “Jenny was our longest-serving Board member, having served four terms as a Director and three terms as Deputy Chair. John has been on the Board for three terms and was previously chair of the Customer and Community Engagement Committees. Kay and Neil provided great contributions including membership of Board Committees, with Kay recently taking on the position of Chair of our Community and Customer Engagement Committee.”
