| Two public meetings will be held this Thursday to discuss the draft groundwater management plan for the Kooweerup Water Supply Protection Area.
The meetings are taking place at the Kooweerup Historical Society Hall on Thursday 15 April, at 2pm and 7pm.
The draft, prepared by a local consultative committee supported by Southern Rural Water, is open for public comment until Friday 23 April.
Copies are available on the Southern Rural Water Website (www.srw.com.au), the Southern Rural Water Kooweerup Officer at 342 Rossiter Road, the Pakenham Library and the Casey-Cardinia mobile library.
Committee Chairperson Ron Chatfield is encouraging anyone interested in the plan to come along to one of the public meetings to ask questions.
“We want the plan to provide for the long-term future of all groundwater users in the area, as well as the environment,” he said. “Everyone is urged to have a say.”
For more information about the plan, please contact Elissa McNamara on 1300 139 510.
